Directions To Historic Viking Landing Site

St. Brendan's Motel is conveniently located only 12 km from the community of L'Anse aux Meadows, which features the world famous historic Viking landing sites.. From the motel, head north on Highway 436 for 12 kilometres (just over 10 minutes drive). As you arrive in L'Anse aux Meadows, there will be clearly marked signs directing you to the National Historic Site and the Norstead Viking Village..


Directions From St. Anthony:

When leaving St. Anthony, go approximately 7 km out of town on Highway 430. Turn right onto Highway 436. Travel approximately 15 km. St. Brendan's Motel (located in St. Lunaire-Griquet) will be on the right.


Directions From St. Anthony Airport:

When leaving St. Anthony Airport, turn left on to Highway 430. Travel approximately 41 km. Turn left onto Highway 436. Travel approximately 15 km. St. Brendan's Motel (located in St. Lunaire-Griquet) will be on the right.


Directions From St. Barbe:

When leaving St. Barbe, turn left on to Highway 430 (The Viking Trail). Travel approximately 104 km. Turn left onto Highway 436. Travel approximately 15 km. St. Brendan's Motel (located in St. Lunaire-Griquet) will be on the right.


Directions From Deer Lake Airport:

When leaving Deer Lake Airport, turn right on to the Trans Canada Highway. Once in Deer Lake, follow signs for Highway 430 (The Viking Trail) heading north. Travel approximately 400 km. Turn left onto Highway 436. Travel approximately 15 km. St. Brendan's Motel (located in St. Lunaire-Griquet) will be on the right.


Directions From Port aux Basques:

When leaving Port aux Basques, take the Trans Canada Highway north to Deer Lake. Once in Deer Lake, follow signs for Highway 430 (The Viking Trail) heading north. Travel approximately 400 km. Turn left onto Highway 436. Travel approximately 15 km. St. Brendan's Motel (located in St. Lunaire-Griquet) will be on the right.


Directions From St. John's:

When leaving St. John's, take the Trans Canada Highway west to Deer Lake. Once in Deer Lake, follow signs for Highway 430 (The Viking Trail) heading north. Travel approximately 400 km. Turn left onto Highway 436. Travel approximately 15 km. St. Brendan's Motel (located in St. Lunaire-Griquet) will be on the right.
